a brand new toy for a brand new year!

Oh my, just look at it! Isn't is beautiful? I know I shouldn't be this exited about a phone, but really, how could you not be. It's amazing. Before this I had the iPhone 16GB 4S in black so this time I thought I'd go for a white one, and I'm so glad I did because it looks so pretty! It's a 16GB iPhone 5S in gold with 4G, Spotify for 2 years and 8GB of data. The tariff I'm on should be costing me £52 a month, but I get a 50% discount through work, so it's a bit of a bargain really. There's insurance on there too, as I'm more than a bit clumsy (it's been in the bath twice already) so I figured I'd better get it covered because I'll inevitably break it.

I was originally going to get it in white and silver as when I seen the gold online I thought it looked like a tacky gold, but when I actually seen one in the shop I was very pleasantly surprised as it's more of a champaign gold, it's quite subtle. Sigh, it's just lovely. I'm giving my 4S to my mum so we can FaceTime and she can actually have a decent phone, she's had the same rubbish Nokia for a few years now so it'll be nice to see her with something a bit better. I think I'll have to show her how to work it though..

Seeing as I am quite clumsy, I obviously needed to get a case for it as there was no chance I was going to risk dropping and smashing the screen. It was kind of annoying that none of my pretty phone cases would fit it, so I took to ebay.

I bought this lovely floral case from a seller here on ebay and absolutely love it, the case is dainty pink flowers on a pale mint background with a white trim. What impressed me even more than the pretty case was the packaging. It came in a pretty little box all nice and neat and with a little poem printed on a bookmark with the cutest little giraffe on it. I am sucker for pretty packaging and personal details so this won me right over! There are loads of cases on that shop too, in case floral isn't your think, so I bet you'll find something.

I absolutely love my phone and I'm so glad I stuck with iPhone! I realise this reads like a bit of a sponsored post, but I assure you, it's not, I just really like Apple products!

Also, yes to the cliché of a white iPhone with a floral cover...

hello new year!

So the new year is finally here, which means a few things: new years resolutions, spring cleaning, a new set of personal goals and a fresh outlook on life. Although those are general things that everyone tends to do when it comes to a new year and it lasts maybe a few weeks, I am determined to stick to my resolutions this year, so for my own sake I've made them fairly open to leeway.

Before telling you all my resolutions, I thought I'd do a little recap of 2013!

I left my job at Toys R Us, which I was glad and disappointed about. On the one hand, I hated the actual job and what I had to do on a daily basis but on the other hand I absolutely loved who I worked with and I miss them all so much! I moved to Edinburgh with Craig which has been so good for both of us. At our old flat, only I was working while Craig was studying at uni so we didn't have a lot of money to do things, as anything I did earn tended to go on rent, bills etc, whereas now, with both of us working, we've had a lot more opportunity to spend on ourselves and actually have a life outside of the flat. I also love Edinburgh, I don't think I'd want to live anywhere else now. I gained a lot of self confidence, which I've only recently realised. I also don't tend to worry too much about how I look any more, I used to stress about having put on a little weight, about losing my "thigh-gap", about being quite small chested. But it just doesn't bother me much any more, as I've finally realised that everyone's body is different and it's not a bad thing. It only took me 22 years to get to this frame of mind. I got a job in a phone shop, which I absolutely love. I've never had a job where I've enjoyed going to work, but I honestly do with this one. Everyday is completely different because I get to speak to loads of different people on a daily basis and the people I work with are all so nice too!

I really enjoyed 2013 and I honestly hope that 2014 is just as good, I have some good plans for it. As for my resolutions, they are fairly simple.

» Eat a little bit more healthily. - I don't eat that unhealthy right now, but it could be better!
» Exercise. - I don't do any at all right now, which is shocking, so I'm going to start.
» Spend less. - I still occasionally buy things on impulse, so I'm going to try and stop that.
» Organise and blog. - I really enjoy blogging, so I'll be doing it more often.
» No more than one takeaway a month. - This one will be so hard, I love a good Chinese takeaway!
» Sort my wardrobe. - I have so many bits of clothing that I need to give sort and give to charity.

Those are fairly easy to stick to (I hope) so I should be able to actually keep to my resolutions this year. I have a few big plans for this blog too, including a lot more posts and content, along with a shop for blog designs, I'm so excited!

I hope you all had a brilliant Christmas and New Year!
